2024 Alumni Award Winners

2024 has been a great year for many Clarkson Collage Alumni. At the Alumni Dinner on Friday, September 27th, we honored three distinguished alumni.

Melanie McCroy and Allyson Doerr received the Distinguished Alumni Award, recognizing their significant contributions to Clarkson College and the healthcare community.

Melanie Ann Finch-McCroy, with over 40 years of nursing experience, served as Director of Nursing at Charles Drew Health Center for 23 years. She has been an active community leader, involved in health outreach, and is a committed member of Zion Baptist Church, leading ministries and community service efforts. Melanie has also contributed to organizations like the North Omaha Optimist Club and The Links, Inc., earning the Legacy Award for Health & Wellness from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.

Allyson Doerr, a 2017 graduate, has volunteered as a Clinical Coordinator for the Nurse Anesthesia Program at CHI Health Immanuel Hospital. Her dedication to student success and the profession, despite challenges like the pandemic, exemplifies her commitment to high standards and values. Allyson also supports the Nebraska Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.

Trish Weber was awarded the prestigious Miss Minerva Ryley Legacy Award, which honors graduates with a lasting impact on the Alumni Association and Clarkson College. A three-time graduate of Clarkson College, Trish has made significant contributions, including advancing the college’s 3-D printing program, helping it achieve national recognition. Her dedication to innovation in healthcare education has enriched both the student experience and the institution's reputation.

Trish's leadership extends beyond the classroom. She has been a guiding force in the Alumni Association, fostering connections between alumni and students and helping shape the future of the college. Her commitment to Clarkson College’s mission of preparing students for compassionate and ethical healthcare is evident in every project she undertakes. Trish exemplifies the core values of Learning, Excellence, Integrity, Commitment, and Caring, making her a most deserving recipient of this award.
