Clarkson College launched a new educational offering as part of the General Education program that allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Students can utilize the interdisciplinary degree to begin a career in the psychology field or pursue graduate degrees in a variety of settings.
“As a health care focused-institution, an educational offering in psychology is a natural fit for us,” says Lori Bachle, Director of General Education. “Our interdisciplinary faculty team has the skills and experience to prepare students for a career or advanced education in this vital area, whether they choose to enter the clinical, academic or research fields.”
The curriculum focuses on psychology, natural sciences and community health courses to provide students a comprehensive introduction to the field of psychology. Students have the opportunity to participate in professional seminars, fieldwork and capstone experiences that prepare them to work as professionals. Dedicated advisors also assist students as they prepare to enter the field or continue their education as graduate students.
Students can choose to continue their education following the completion of their Bachelor’s degree to earn graduate degrees or certifications as mental health counselors, social workers, research scientists, human resources professionals or health care administrators.
Students can enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program option to begin courses in fall 2022. Learn more at ClarksonCollege.edu/Psychology.
