The Best Master’s Degrees ranked the Clarkson College online Master’s degree in Nursing Health Care Administration (NHCA) program 14th in the nation out of 96 accredited schools in the category of the most affordable online MSN in Nursing Leadership programs.
The Best Master’s Degrees is an online resource that routinely researches and reports information on national master’s degree-granting programs. The company reviewed approximately 96 nationally and/or regionally accredited institutions to compile a list of the 30 most affordable top programs for an online MSN in nursing leadership, nursing management or nursing administration for 2016. Most of the schools examined have received accreditation by The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a nationally recognized accrediting agency approved by the U.S. Secretary of Education that ensures the quality and integrity of nursing degree programs.
All colleges and universities named to the list were previously ranked by major publications like Forbes magazine, The Princeton Review, or U.S. News and World Report. The Best Master’s Degrees then chose the 30 most affordable of these institutions based on the graduate tuition rates from NCES College Navigator and listed them in order of affordability.
“This national ranking is an honor, as it represents the hard work and focus of our faculty and staff on quality and cost control,” stated Clarkson College President Dr. Tony Damewood.”
Carla Dirkschneider, Clarkson College Health Care Administration Program Director, stated that a primary learning objective for students is understanding the necessary function cost control plays in maintaining the sustainability of a health care organization. “This concept is equally true at Clarkson College, where maintaining affordability is a top priority,” she added.
Citing reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, The Best Master’s Degrees states that the earning potential for nurses significantly increases when a master’s degree is earned. One of the highest paying nursing fields is administration or leadership. First-line nurse managers earn approximately $70,000 annually, while senior level nurse managers earn over $95,000 per year. Online programs such as the Clarkson College Nursing Health Care Administration Master’s degree allow registered nurses to advance their education as they work.
